Does anyone know if the matches this year are scheduled at a specific time verses the way it has been done in the past whereby you are waiting several hours "on deck" for your match?

Thanks.

I believe they have posted that they are going to try and schedule the match times this year.

I believe Greg posted that they have a new computer program to do the draws that will allow them to do the redraws prior to the previous round being completed, thus eliminating the "big wait" until the end of each round. This, in addition to more tables, should allow them to run things a bit more "on schedule", which will be great for the players. Hopefully, this will allow for match times to be posted and adhered to, not "you're the 5th table available in the next rotation through the draw."

Scheduled Times

Two things are different this year. The draw times and start of play times for each round are scheduled and posted in advance (eliminating the "big wait" for the next round draw as mentioned). Also. when each tournament gets down to between 32 and 64 players, match times will be scheduled and posted, such as "Tue 7:00PM" along with player and table info.

So far the new items seem to be working pretty well. Play Friday actually ended before 11:00 PM for Round 1. People seemed to appreciate the rest of the night off knowing Round 2 would be drawn this morning at 10:30AM with play to start at 11:00AM.

We'll see how it goes today and tomorrow with the number of rounds and tournaments increasing. Here's a link to the bank pool schedule (subject to change at any time)

If that really works like they say it will it would be a pretty big change. I've never played a match, but I've been to a few DCCs and trying to figure out when and where someone is playing to spectate has been a pretty big CF in the past.
