Is this the only year DCC is gonna be at harrahs. Will it be going back to the exec west next year?

There are reasons it isn't at the executive west this year. They have remodeled and have less space for the tournament and jacked up their room rates. I would say it's highly unlikely it will return there. Hopefully the pool community supports this event this year at Harrah's. I hope this year is the biggest Derby yet. Harrah's could be a good relationship for the pool world. I believe they are adding some money to the event this year.TXsouthpaw said:
I would say if you can afford to do it in January 2009 (this Year), I would do it as the event need support in the new venue to continue.

The chance on the DCC ever going back to the Executive West is less than 1%..They have changed directions..There is another one of their properties in Louisville that could handle our needs. It's called the Galt House, but I'd only give that happening a 10% chance.
It seems to me that this year is the most important year I've ever encountered as far as large pool tournaments happening outside pool rooms....As I have stated, I never thought tournaments at Casinos was a good idea before this year..In the past there only seemed to be 2 places for Casino action. That was Vegas or Atlantic City, but now there are Casinos everywhere and IMO the excitement is diminished and I feel our poolplayers and spectators MIGHT not loose all their money on Casino games and keep some of it in the pool community...We'll see...
The Casinos have much of what is needed for large pool events...Many have areas large enough for pool tables. They have rooms attached so commuting back and forth is not a problem...They usuall don't charge for parking...Often the room rates are not as high for comarable rooms, as they know the value of bodies near a gambling site. They are used to a 24 hour facility including eating and are set up for importantly, security....These all are very important for a successful tournament...None the less they have the ability to add money!!Which you definitly know is needed for a tournament to continue..
We could only get a one year contrac...We are in the "Show Me" stage for now...Harrahs Properties have 54 different sites and I hope to use all I can....I definitely want a relationship with them because I don't think I'll be able to cold call on Hotels and beg for a chance for me to make them money any more...
