The format for the Derby City Classic is going to be a little different this year. The finals will be a single-elimination tournament among the top 8 finishers. Pat Fleming plans to tape most of the matches on the TV table, and he has offered a $500 bonus to anyone who runs 100 or more on TV and is willing to do commentary for the run. Any out run of 50 or more in the matches will be allowed to continue.

The prelims start on Sunday the 6th and run through Wednesday. The format for the prelims is the same as last year. Entry is $100. You get a total of 12 innings alone on the table. You set up a break shot to begin each inning and the inning ends when you miss or foul. We are calling all fouls.

It is recommended that you take four innings per day. There will be high-run awards on each day, but only your first four innings of the day will count towards them. You could shoot all 12 innings in one day if you arrive late. Judging from the play last year, 65 may win a daily high run award on Sunday, but you will need an 80 or 90 to make it into the final 8.

The prelims and maybe one or two of the matches will be in the Drinkwater Room which is next to the restaurant. We will have two tables available with a video camera set up on one of them. We are planning to have a women's division this year with separate prizes.

There will be a total of $10,000 added plus 100% of the entries. There will be prizes for the top 8 finishers in the men's division and for the top third of the women's division. There will also be a prize for top run overall.

With 30 entries in the men's and 6 in the women's division, the payouts will be roughly:

Men's 1st $2000
2nd $1400
3rd-4th $900
5th-8th $600

Women' 1st $1600, 2nd $800

plus the daily prizes

So that I got this clear, the Finals will be done on Wednesday?
