DCC stream contract.........................

I personally think that all streamers should be allowed to do their thing. I know space is limited, but it would work itself out. The cream always rises. It would be a slog for POV to roll the kit to DCC, but Im sure Daniel would have no trouble with it. The only real trouble would be getting Box out of his room in the early early morning to set up the gear.

I like Truck too, does a good job and is not afraid to try new things. It'd be nice to see everyone out there keeping each other honest.

I'd bet that Horseshoe has one hell of a camera system of their own, so they chose to do something with it related to the pool matches.

I think the match selection could have something to do with wanting to "save " certain matches for DVD sales???
They should state that up front that side-show events like Amer.Rotation and 14.1 may be shown in place of the matches people paid to see. Better yet, GET A SECOND T.V TABLE.

I'm sure Accu-stats pays for the streaming rights. Opening this up to bidding would benefit the paying viewers. We'd probably get better video with more tables shown, more camera angles and, hopefully, a larger crew of commentators. Just my $.02 here folks, nothing more.

I enjoy them as I do all the streams. But I do think it is time to move to channels with several tables being streamed. We don't need the commentary on all of them or different angles. Just put a camera out there so we could see many more matches.

Absolutely.

DVD? Who even uses one of those anymore?

Exactly.. I am currently in the process of converting my massive Accu-Stats backlog to MPEG-4 format and moving it to my NAS. A few clicks of the remote and I am watching any one of the 100+ matches I've ripped so far... I've pretty much done all my Efren One Pocket matches...

Two things that would help accustats.

Improve the output of the video to the streaming provider, I've seen better stream quality from someone's phone than accustats. It is embarrassing given the high quality of their cameras.

Two. Find more interesting people to commentate. Deliberto needs to be retired for hopefully obvious reasons. Find some knowledgeable players and someone who can make the matches exciting. I watched a big foot match in the afternoon with Deliberto and Wilson. I almost fell asleep.

I get it, it's not good enough, but it's good enough to steal. It must be good.

Why do you think he doesn't have a right for his own use to take his mass of purchased DVDs and convert it to a digital file to watch it over the medium of his choice? :kma:

I was thinking same thing. He's already paid for the content.

Why is it other streamers can provide 6 HD camera's for a free local stream and Accustats can charge us and only uses one???

Excuse me? I think you need to f***ing check yourself with the accusations. I was in Iraq for two years and bought a significant amount of DVDs from Accu-Stats from their back catalog and for a period there, I bought the entire set of every 9 Ball event every year, plus the entire DCC offering.

Is it okay with you if I convert my DVDs that I bought from Accu-Stats to the format that is most convenient for me?

Do I have your f***ing permission?

Lots of people who don't know what they are talking about on here. Let's just get something clear that Accu-Stats although dated is better then most of the streamers out there when it comes to quality and production. I include myself into the equation because most of the streamers such as Daniel, Al, myself and others are all fairly comparable in quality. I feel we do a great job but we are one man armies who are lucky to have help if any, I know Daniel has Geraldine which I am sure makes it easier but still lots of hours of multi-tasking.

Just watch Accu-Stats then watch our stuff, there is a difference between a stream and a production. We don't have a jib crane or people running the cameras usually and at times we do the commentary ourselves with help from volunteers. I think CSI does a fine job with Vincent being in control of the production. I do think that Accu-Stats should try and set up a multiple table stream but it is not as easy as you think. The bandwidth also sucks at the Horseshoe so I doubt you will see more streamers showing up there. The multi table streams I have seen were free which makes it more practical but doing PPV with multiple table choices would be unfeasible most likely using Audio Video Web I gather.

Other then Matchroom with Mosconi Cup, in pool I think the best quality production you would have seen was in Bonus Ball. I know my opinion is a bit biased being a part of it but with Nathan of Run Out Media behind the scenes it was done very well. He did the Break and Run DVD, Mikas DVD, and Venom's DVDs to name a few. With very little money to be made it is tough for those doing pool streaming to afford a crew to run camera's and do the many things that go beyond the scene which is why most streams are stationary 2-3 camera deals done on a budget.

Most of us do what we can to make improvements with the money from gigs, sponsors, and fan support. I think those of us out there doing streaming do a hell of a job. Imagine doing an 8-12 hour work shift and you got hundreds if not thousands of people watching and waiting for you to screw up or losing it because something happened with the stream. Its a tough gig. :)

Here are some stream comparisons. You can see quality of some are very similar but something like say Accu-Stats is higher and Bonus Ball is very polished. I think those of us who stream could do more but it really comes down to money. Not going to have a production that cost more then what is being added to the tournament, haha.

If any streamers have any better stuff to post to show higher quality please do as I know lighting in some venues sucks so it ends up hurting the quality. I just grabbed some of the more current stuff from each one they had on YouTube myself included.

Lots of people still do. I would say in the next 10 years it will be different but they still sell and I ship them out all the time. I do also offer digital download and have good success with it but I still sell more DVDs then downloads but it is close. I think Accu-Stats offers On Demand content and should try and get it out there faster before the buzz of an event wears off at say perhaps $2.99 to view and maybe $5.99 to own or the whole event on download for $99.

But you're not stupid enough to show straight pool or AMRO over Efren playing Shane and you would never advertise 9ball with a possibility(if there is time) to show straight pool and then skip another Efren match or banks finals. We all paid to see 9ball!

I believe that this past Derby might have been the toughest for scheduling on everyone involved so many things overlapped. At times I have to stream a match at an event because that is what they send me and not what I want nor the majority of fans, at times I just shake my head. I look at the DCC page with the completed matches and it was not updated for a long time and made it tough for us to all follow along with the event.

I applaud Accu-Stats and Greg Sullivan for bringing us a great event regardless of the issues that have happened. They do a great job and we are lucky to have the event and to see it. You cannot please everyone and I think majority of those who watched the DCC Accu-Stats stream enjoyed it. Great pool with the best players and if people think someone can do better then Accu-Stats who are in the business right now they are mistaken.
