My dad (Police Officer) took me to DMV to get a fake ID (brothers birth cert) when I was 18 with the understanding that I would use it to join a league and get into bars to play pool....no drinking

I never drank in a bar and never tried to buy alcohol with the ID. The bar that I frequented knew I was not 21 but they were okay so long as it was a good ID.

I skipped the last class of the day in high school, went home and "borrowed" my brother's drivers license (he was 17 and I was 15), and his '56 Ford and took it for a ride. I got stopped by a cop who said I looked too small in the driver's seat (I had to look through the steering wheel to see the road). He wasn't fooled and made me leave the car where it was and walk home.

When my brother got home and saw his car was gone I was forced to tell him what happened. He took his keys and walked over a mile to retrieve his car, not saying a word to me. When he got back I made a run for it down the street and he caught me about a block away. He gave me a sound beating and left me laying on the ground. He never said another word to me about it afterwards.

I was a bad kid, I admit it.

Sorry if I misled anybody. He had already become disenchanted with the professional pool player career path. This was just icing on the cake.

He is actually taking it better than I am, lol. As Jay mentioned, I would’ve got a fake ID.

Just a tad dramatic, don't you think? He'll be 21 six days layer and this has him "disillusioned"? Really? If that's the case he might need to quit.

It didn't make any sense until you realize hes just bummed because he can't beat pros.

Where do you have to be 21, obviously not in the middle area where the slim to no cue venders are anymore. I assume it’s only the big room down stairs and the action room? The big heads behind the Derby don’t control the hotel, nor places like the restaurants. I mean FFS they stop adults at the top of the escalator who don’t even know there’s a tournament going on and are just trying to use the business center. The whole thing is a complete shit show.

According to their post on FB, as a result of the casino moving off of the river boat, all of the "meeting space" is now under the jurisdiction of the Indiana Gaming Commission. So that might not include the hallways or the restaurants, but it would include the main floor and all of the rooms where the tables are set up (both the tournament rooms and the action rooms).

There is no doubt in my mind that the "big heads behind the Derby" are unhappy about this development and would've tried hard to find a way around this. And you and I must have a very different experience at the DCC, because it is the best event I've ever been to.

I was hoping they’d keep the games separate like before...
...but they’ll probably have slot machines all over the place.

When Alex was 16 at the BCA juniors in Vegas, he was allowed the last day to attend
the trade show....but there were no games in that building.
He got his gambling fix every day at Mary and Fred’s Cuetopia.

It looks like it will be. I haven’t been inside but it looks like instead of hiking down the corridor the casino starts at entrance.
