Exciting to see some big name snooker and pool players finally match up! This will be an exciting event!

Even top players like Chris Melling, Karl Boyes and Daryl Peach Allison Fisher have to play qualifiers - goes to show how strong and competitive the field is
IMHO Snooker players like Higgins, Roberton have no chance against the E8B pros like Potts, Appleton. For the snooker players it is a nice gig, they take some time off to have fun playing a diff discipline and very likely get paid good appearance money also :D

there's a heap of world snooker champions in this including the best of the best at the moment, Selby, Robertson and some of the best all time like higgins and mark williams

I used to play in an 8 ball pool league with Neil Robertson when he was about 12. He has some experience in 8 ball patterns, so don't write him off. Though, Selby has played more of that game in recent years.

Should be an outstanding tournament!

Robertson beat Appleton ;)

little hidden brag, but my teammate who just turned 18 made it to the final 16 in the winnersround , by beating sasha liu the other youngster (also only 17) who became the last world 9 ball champion.

I've said it 6 years ago when was just 13 she would become a world champion one day. She has the european titel, the world champion titel in the -18, and now she turned 18 its only time before she will win a world champion titel with the big players. i know she can do it, she has won from other world champions in the past in the amway cup, but playing that level every game is different. Im happy with top 16 , but curious to see how far she'll get.

I'm so happy !! just crap that the streams all are pritty crappy and there is no good chart to be seen anywere on the website.

Congrats to Kamila, that is a huge win. You are right that Sha Sha Liu (despite being so young) is a monster talent and also just happens to be ranked #3 in the world right now. Your friend should be very proud of that win!

Good question, I don't see Gaz's name anywhere.
Did he get knocked out in the qualifying stage??

I guess he just didn't sign up for the qualifier and didn't have the WPA rank for a spot in the main event. And he doesn't have enough snooker clout to be invited like his brother in law Selby.

I see.
You would think he'd get an invite just for being a back-to-back Chinese 8-Ball Masters Champion though...
