Deal or no Deal

Not a mechanic, but my Olio plays as good as any gold crown i've ever played on. I'd buy another one.

I have never personally worked on one that didn't need knew cushions. Once I've installed new, they seem to play well.

Go check the table out first. Feel the cushions to see if they're hard and check for any dead spots. If you find a dead spot, it won't be long before the rest of the cushions is hard, and then the rest will follow. Make sure it is actually slate, and look for water damage or damage to the cabinet.

For 1k I would think you should be able to find a Gold Crown, I see them on Craigslist Milwaukee pretty regular for that price range, I think it would be worth the 2 hour ride. Isnt the Olio a Gold Crown knock off?

most GCs that i looked at that were under 1000 were beat to hell. alot of mixed parts, and general frank-n-crown

ill probibly end up with a diamond and be done with it.

You certainly cant go wrong that way:thumbup: There were some 9' Diamonds for sale in Appleton out of a pool hall on Ebay, it might be worth it for you to see if any are still available. I would love to have a Diamond but as odd as it sounds I am not sure I would give up my GC in favor of a Diamond.
