Deal with Trusted Sources

I have to mention Nick Serdula as a good source for Scrugg's cues. I have done a deal or two with him and feel his word is golden. Many people are honest to the core, others don't care about respect or integrity, it's profits only, very sad. I've had great dialog with Chris Tate regarding cues. Some of the smaller sellers and buyers are awesome to deal with. What other options do we have??

This is a FAR better place to do business than eBay...

would it be completely off to restructure this section for every transaction to be public? i would guess yes, the scammers would still come by. but at the same token, what could be lost? at least there would be proof.

personally, i was lurking around a great long time before even becomming a member trying to read peoples intention. i did my homework and made a few deals before & after that turned out great for everyone.

as it is now it comes down to knowing the person you deal with personally, or give trust in people and run into the occational scam.

Troy aka kionnkid should be on the list.

In addition to all of the good honest sellers mentioned in this thread, there are several other people who seem to go out of their way, even financially, to help diffuse certain "sticky" situations which is incredible, and a reason why this forum is so good

I haven't done enough transactions on AZB to be on any list but anyone that has dealt with me knows how fair I am, and how fast I send payments once the deal is made. I get a lot of calls from people trying to sell cues that I have had multiple 2000.00 + transactions with. Maybe someday I can be up there with vinniebabarooch

Thanks

Smooth dealings

Great post.
That is one of the main reasons I like to talk to people that are selling cues to, or buying cues from me .
You can learn a lot from a simple phone call.Call it old school if you want but it has seemed to work for me for many years in sales & service.
You can either get a good feeling or bad one very quickly.
Just do your homework.

Well I'm glad that this is NOT another "Buyer/Seller Transaction Report" Thread.

Because that would just be redundant.

I mean, we already have one of those.

That is to say, a Thread for Good Deals/Bad Deals already exists.

I think, IIRC, that at the top of this Forum there's a lengthly thread regarding AZ Members experiences with each other.

This thread seems eerily familiar to me.......

I seem to have a bit of deja vu going on here.....

Hasn't this been done already? 'Cause i think I have the T-Shirt.....

:D ;) :p :)

I don't buy/sell very often (I'm poor:p ). However, my rule for cues is this: If I don't know them I don't buy it. It's not worth the cheap price if it's not what it's supposed to be or doesn't show up at all. For me anything over 1K needs phone calls and a really good rep. Most likely though I will go through a dealer for anything over 1000. Just some random thoughts on the subject.

That thread has gotten so long that doing research on a person is prohibitively time consuming.... for me anyway.

Some sort of seller/buyer rating system controlled by the mods would sure be handy.

It would be nice to just have a "check list" of the members so you could go straight to the seller you were planning on buying from's list and see how many good or bad transactions they've had with other AZB'rs.

Things I have noticed

Someone buying cues that are in a mid to high end range. usually know a little about who they are dealing with.
The forum has changed drasticly I dare to say in the last year. I really would hesitate to buy anything from anyone that was selling cues under $1500 for sure and it is always best if they have a websight or own a poolhall. Once you get into that range and higher things seem to be better quality including the buyers and sellers.
This used to be a no prob no worry type of forum. This was where dealers and collectors came.
That time is gone.
So Look for one thing. SATISFACTION GAURENTEED!
Use escrow services whenever there is any dought.
Paypal protects nothing here.

Buy new from cue makers or their distributors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the deal is too good- you are going to get burned.

Nick :)

Good intentions

Jamie, I am sure you had great intentions. But in this kind of post, you can never please everybody and somebody will be left off and be pissed even if they were just mistakenly left out. Oh well............

I thought we were tight. :p :p :p

With all the mudslinging and deals gone bad on the board lately, it makes me wonder why AZB members do not deal with the trusted sources here. I mean, it's not like there aren't enough of them...

On The Hill
CueAddicts
Cornerstone
Classic Cues
Bamacues
Erik Lee
Western Cue
Cues N Things
High End Cues
Quality Cues
FASTNLOOSE
Vinniebabarooch

And I'm sure I've missed a many more. I suppose some people are looking for that great deal, you know, the one that is almost too good to be true...and it is! There are plenty of great cues here, at great prices, from great people. Why take a chance?

Thanks for the mention.. I want to point out that the first thing you should do is search the dealing sticky on the top of the page if you aren't sure.

And as mentioned before why someone would want to lose face here and do a bum deal is besides me. It's not worth it. You can do 25 good deals but that one bad one will never be forgotten.
