dealing with emotion

Yeah, I heard that"Big" Wally was just hanging around nowadays...a real swinger! :D

Honesty needs enlightenment to get started, but then comes the hard work to make sure one doesn't slip back to b/s'ing oneself. And it requires fending off the dishonest who constantly attempt to change one back to their lazy, violence-backed ways of thinking and doing.

Honesty requires rational thinking, hard work, discipline, real goals, a strong will, persistence, optimism, good communication, a sense of humor, and a good set of armor...and some other stuff I can't think of right now.

Once you crack the code, ain't life beautiful? :)

Here I must agree with you Jeff. Life can be beautiful. I think it depends on what kind of seeds you have been sowing. I believe we create our tomorrows with everything we think, say and do today. You plant beautiful seeds and life is beautiful. You plant bad seeds and your garden will be full of weeds and briars. That really ain't no code, thats the way it is! IMHO.
Take care, Purdman:cool:

I read a book a couple of years ago. I'm pretty sure it was Phil Capelle's A Mind for Pool. I remember he said that you shouldn't waste emotion after a bad shot by commenting on it (for example, cursing), making any motions such as hitting the table because it wastes both physical and mental energy that should be saved for your game. The same goes for a good shot as well. Just keep your emotions level during play.

When a mistake in execution is made one chooses there next thoughts, you can either get better at whining, complaining, *****ing, slouching, frowning, OR what ever justifys your miss in your own MIND, or you can think about what just happened and most likely improve a heck of allot quicker. Remember, if the glass is half full its probably "just laying on its side".
