Dear Santa,
Even though there are still 93 days left until Christmas, I was always told that the early bird catches the worm. So I am writing a list for your approval of things I would like for pooldom. The reason I am writing to you on AZB is two-fold. First, I lost your address in 1966 when I was 7. Second, I know you are aware that pool players have more wishes than anybody south of the north pole! And also, I haven't lost a tooth since about 1964 or so and I don't expect to for another 15-20 years or so. So putting a list under my pillow and waiting for the little lady with wings and a wand won't do. So, here goes...

1. I wish that pool in America was bigger than the NFL and golf COMBINED!
Then we could have real experts covering game or event after game or event. We could have our very own TV channel that covered pool 24/7!
There would be shows giving breakdowns on upcoming matches, in depth player interviews and profiles. The great champions could be doing commercials and people would finally see that we have the greatest sport ever invented.

2. I wish that you could give us DVDs in color of Ralph Greenleaf, Frank Taberski, Bennie Allen, Alfredo DeOro, Rotation Slim and all the other great players who have NO video footage that preserves their greatness for succeeding generations. And please let people know that there was pool before Efren and Johnny Archer.

3. I wish that instead of a chicken in every pot, there was a pool table in every basement. (And not used to fold laundry either!)

4. I wish that Billy Incardona would write his autobiography.

5. I wish that we could somehow feed all kinds of statistical info on all the great players from every era into a super-duper computer and then we could have dream matches between any player from any era playing any type match. Imagine Santa, being able to watch Erfren vs Ronnie Allen or Oliver Ortmann vs Erwin Rudolph!

6. I wish that we could log into AZB while at work. I have a gazillion cronies who either do or wish they could. Could you please hypnotize our bosses to make them love pool and see the value in making happier workers better productive workers! (;) )

7. Could you let guys like Pat Fleming and his staff at Accu-Stats, Mike H here at AZB, Barry Berhman, Jerry Forsyth, George Fels, Mike Gefner, Tom Shaw, Mike Panozzo and everybody else I missed in the billiard industry know how much we diehard fans appreciate their contributions to our great sport. And special props to Grady, Billy and Freddy)

8. Could you help the peeps here at AZB to enjoy this forum as much as possible. Help us to woof it up, laugh a lot and for those who can't seem to get along well with others, may some tush-hog straighten them out and then everybody shake hands and get back to the boards. And please let all my buddies and bud-ettes here know how much I appreciate their friendships! :)

9. I hope our little sister, Onepocket.org, experiences the growth and popularity that's found here at AZB.

10. Instead of a red rider BB gun for every 6 yr old in America, could you instead please stuff their stocking with a Cuetec or an entry level Meucci instead?

11. And last but not least Santa, please take these requests seriously. This is not the case of another pool player tring to put the bite on you. And I promise not to tell you any half truths unless they're completely accurate! (;) )

Gee Santa, you're a swell guy!

What he said, Santa

Dwight

oh and First!!! lol

Sadly a lesson I learned as a young child is there is NO Santa for Poor Kids, as no matter what I asked for each X-mas I only got what a single working mother could afford.

My list was always long like the other kids in the neighborhood, and I told the guy in the Santa Suit at the Department store what I wanted each year.

I was not a bad kids but as I said I only got what a single working mother could afford. The kids from what I called rich famalies got what they wanted.

It O.K. to believe in Santa if you wish, but many of the things you wish for will happen in real people make them happen IMHO.

Ccc,
Your childhood mirrors mine and probably 50% of the members here. I'll bet high that the police spent more time in my house when my parents were still together than they did at yours. I got over all that about 40 years ago, as I suspect, most others did also.

To cheer you up and help buoy your spirts, here's something for your viewing pleasure.....
