Decent hitting inexpensive billiards cue?

Any suggestions on a decent hitting, cheap billiards cue? I've hit with an Adams cue that I liked, but all I've been able to find online was a Helmstetter from them for around $420. That's more than I was hoping to spend. I've heard Schuler's are popular, but the cheapest Schuler is about $450. I was hoping for something in the sub-$200 range.

I'm in South Korea, so there are Hanbat's. They are available as (2 piece) house cues here, but the hit is not good, at least on the house cue models. They feel like 2x4s. Except for one that I did find, it hits well. Of course this seems to be the exception rather than the rule, so I'd rather not order a Hanbat unless someone has had better experience with them.

I don't really care too much about the hit, I'm just starting to pick up 3 cushion. I mostly hate playing with 2x4s, but anything else is probably fine.:) Used is ok too.

Thanks for your help.

Try a Longoni, hit great, I've got two of them. Entry level starts at around $100.

I have a couple of Helmstetter / Adams 3-Cushion cues I will let them go for $500 shipping included. The above includes both cues with 2 shafts each. The cues are the Willie Hoppe models they produced around two years ago.

Contact me if interested!!!!!

Wesley,
Manwon lived in Korea. That's where his name comes from (it means 10,000 won). I'm guessing he still remembers where it is.:)

Manwon,
I'm going to have to think about that a little bit. That's a good offer.

Everybody else,
Thanks for the great links! They have been a big help. I had actually looked at carombilliards.com earlier, but somehow it must have been broken. The only cue I could see the first time was their free cue. I didn't even have the option to buy one. Weird, but it's working fine now.

Thanks for the thought, and yes I lived in Korea for about six years total. I speak, read and write it Korean, and I have been married for 21 years to a Women from Korean / Chinese decent.

When I was picking my screen name, I tired quickly of finding names that were already taken. So I though about a Korean name for something, at first I would get people asking if I was trying to say that I was a Man-women!!!!!! :D so to help them understand I would ask them out to dinner:p, that was more than enough to freak them out:D . You are the first one to pick-up on the real meaning, I figured that a form of money would be different. So I decided upon manwon, since it was the largest paper currancy note used in Korea. Manwon = 10,000 won or 10.6514 USD today.

Thanks again, and have a good night!!!!!

Carombilliards always has this cue on EBay. I bought one, it is a terrific carom cue, good weight, balance AND inexpensive. They go for 30- 40 dollars with 25 shipping. However if you contact carombilliards.com directly he'll probably give you even a better deal. I have not shot with a Helmstetter but I can't picture it being better than my carom cue, NO DEFLECTION. Onestroke

Carom Cue

Being in Korea, you should be able to find a inexpensive good carom stick, even custom made, otherwise go to carombilliards.com.:)
