Dechaine

He sharked my "honorary nephew" in the same tournament, despite it being rack your own. Matt told me he was down on his break shot when Dechaine said "Hold it!"...then asked if two striped balls behind the head ball was a legal rack. Of course it's legal...but that's Dechaine, right? Easier said than done, but opponents should know he makes moves like this, and not let him get under their skin.

(edit)..this tournament was rack your own. Alternate break. Matt won the lag, broke & ran the first rack. Dechaine broke & ran the 2nd rack. It was on the 3rd rack, Matt down for his break shot that Dechaine said "Hold it!". I'm not saying Matt coulda won, but he is a good amateur who is capable of sneaking up on pros. Just ask Mika about the "logger" who beat him at the Reno bar table thing. ;) Anyway, Dechaine won 7-4, putting Matt to the losers side.

I have known Matt for a several years and he would never make a move like that. Mike will do anything to win and has no class at all in my opinion.

I laughed when Mike told Rodney to be a professional and not watch him rack. Rodney called him a cheater for touching the one ball after the rack was removed. Then the commentator went on to explain how touching the one ball creates spaces and wires balls into the corner. The exchange between the two was funny and the post game handshake was a real treat especially when Rodney was walking away from Mike toward the booth and said "screw him." lol.

Meoow. I would love to see a vid of that handshake

Wow. Another thread from a bunch of people sitting behind their computer.

1). To the guy who said I sharked Scott Frost in Oregon. Listen, I travel all over the world competing in tournaments and guess what? There hasn't been the same set of rules in each one of them. So, I am sorry if I say foul one someone is elevated over another ball and moves it During his/her stroke. Turning Stone, Joss Tours, U.S. Open, Straight pool events, World events, etc all have this rule. But I guess I need to catch up on my North Western BCA Rule Book.

2). Rodney is.... Rodney. LOL. He needs to use intimidation to threaten players when he's losing, then thats who he is. This racking nonsense is getting old. A lot of Old School player like Rodney, Johnny, Earl, Mika, etc, are too lazy to learn!. The information is out there so don't go around threatening people, just get getting better at the game you've been playing your whole life. The funny thing about that match was, Rodney made the corner ball more than I did. LMAO. I didn't call him a cheater, I sat there and laugh because the moved he pulled worked. Congrats Champ.

glad you responded in person MD. helps when you have two sides.

All the top guys bring different ecperiences, strengths and personality to the game...many don't mix well. When you can break and run at their level, the difference in winning and losing can come down to break percentage. It's just part of our game until there's a standardized set of rules or neutral rackers. It's not changing anytime soon.

Mike is one of my favorite players. He's aggressive on the table, demands alot of himself. For fans of the game to sit by and try to dispariage him only hurts our game.

I was one of those guys who accused you of sharking Scott Frost. At the end of the match Scott accused you of sharking also. I have only played in the Pacific NW and Las Vegas and one foul ball in had rules has always been at these to locations cue ball foul only. Now if the other places say when your jacked up over a ball and you foul the object ball right behind the cue ball its a foul even when playing cue ball foul only then I owe you an apology for my ignorance on this matter.

I would like to ask you when you played in the Finals at the US Open 8 Ball at the Rio last year when you found out after the match that Dennis was tilting the rack when he was breaking. It is seen on the video and the ref made him re-rack several times. What can you do as a pro to prevent this in the future. I know you didn't know it was happening during the match or you would of stopped it.

Every tournament has a different set of rules. The main reason why I thought it was a foul was because it was a Mosconi Cup Points event. Do you think they would allow you move the ball you're elevated over? NO CHANCE!! So for Scott putting up a fuss and saying I sharked him just goes to show how poorly everything in our sport is ran right now.

As far as Dennis Tilting the rack, I said something to the refs but nothing was done. There are a few players that tournament directors want to see come to their events and Dennis happens to be one of them. It doesn't help when individuals tear you apart for saying the right thing. Its happened my whole career and I am sure it'll continue to happen.

#ifyourenotlearningyouredying and that's what seems to be happening to the professional element of our sport!!

Mike, while this thread has your attention, can you say which pool cue you switched to after leaving OB Cues.

Saw you trying out some of Jayson Shaw's cues during a streamed event roughly a month ago on the stream table.

Have you settled on a new cue as your main player? If so, what is the quality of that cue that made you make that decision? Could be just a sponsor obligation thing, too.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Mike.

Mike should be commended for coming on here. What did he have to gain? He doesn't OWE us anything. Like him or not, I think that's respectable.

I love how the thread back tracks when Mike comes on and says something.
All this '' thanks mike, I respect you mike'' is a load d B.S. I've read countless
threads that bash him into the ground.
Thats one thing I cannot stand is people not confronting the person
they talk sh-t about but will clam up and slither away. Brutal!!

I've been FB friends with Mike for a very long time, so I know I'm no hypocrite.

Never said you were but I get what your saying. There's a slew of people on
this forum that beat him like a drum, so I'm waiting for them to engage in
a conversation with him and see if there as floppy tongue when they know he's
online and will respond to the nonsense.

On March 4th Mike did a live video stream on Facebook. He answered questions from the chat while practicing. He said he was now shooting with a Southwest cue. He said something along the lines of OB was great to him but he needed to try a different cue.

Find his Facebook page, and then go to the Videos section
