Decision time-Tough pattern? Shoot?/Duck?

On a Diamond i like the bank. It's a hanger on short rails.
On a Gold Crown i like high inside 2 rails. If the GC plays great
my opponent can pick either option for double the bet.
I like rail first if the 7 is closer to the pocket.
Playing safe or playing for the combo is only optional if you're
trolling for action.
....just my opinion

I agree, the table is going to weigh in heavily on what shot you choose. I also agree on the rail first shot. It's not that it's not there, but that far from the pocket I would prefer not to go that route. As for the safety "trolling for action", I advised the safety for players that don't have the skill to get out from there.

I would never play for the combo, that is the weakest area of my game and I'm well aware of it.

Well, I surely wasn't intending to insult you or your playing. Just throwing out advice that I heard when I was in B class. Looking at the layout that was given I don't see any problem whatsoever getting over on that 8-ball. It does look pretty straight in but I think if you toss it up on a table like that you'll see there is more angle there than what this shows. If it was dead straight and I couldn't cheat the pocket, yeah, I may go for the bank.

Sorry i didnt mean anything negative by my post.I guess you could actually
play the shot according to the score and the speed of both players,,,

I didn't say that!!

8pack, I don't know how you did it but somehow you made it look like I was the one quoting Mullyman's quote. Interesting editing maneuver but I think he should get credit for his posts.:wink:
