I have a McDermott cue. It's an EB Clasic, EB01-CLO. The butt is blue. I recently purchased a Jacoby LD shaft with a 3/8x10 pin. I only get to play pool from March through October as I give golf lessons. This is the 3rd winter I have been playing again after a 25 year layoff. A couple of weeks ago I was looking at the cues of two of my friends - both McDermott cues. The butt of their cues feels smaller than the butt on my cue. Is it possible to "turn down", if that's the right phrase, the butt of my cue or do I have to buy a new cue? All I need is the butt end as I plan on keeping the Jacoby shaft.
So, I can either pay McDermott $200 to turn down my current McDermott cue, buy another cue with a 3/8x10 pin (for the Jacoby shaft) or buy a cue and have a 3/8x10 pin put in it - if that's even possible.
Since I'm retired, the budget isn't very much. I just can't afford $300+ for a cue.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
