Decisions, decisions

I have a McDermott cue. It's an EB Clasic, EB01-CLO. The butt is blue. I recently purchased a Jacoby LD shaft with a 3/8x10 pin. I only get to play pool from March through October as I give golf lessons. This is the 3rd winter I have been playing again after a 25 year layoff. A couple of weeks ago I was looking at the cues of two of my friends - both McDermott cues. The butt of their cues feels smaller than the butt on my cue. Is it possible to "turn down", if that's the right phrase, the butt of my cue or do I have to buy a new cue? All I need is the butt end as I plan on keeping the Jacoby shaft.

So, I can either pay McDermott $200 to turn down my current McDermott cue, buy another cue with a 3/8x10 pin (for the Jacoby shaft) or buy a cue and have a 3/8x10 pin put in it - if that's even possible.

Since I'm retired, the budget isn't very much. I just can't afford $300+ for a cue.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

You are new so I will give you a break.
This is for sale section.
You should post this in the main section.

I suggest you call up Jacoby and have them make you a sneaky to your exact specs and then I can use your other shaft on that. If the price is right have them make a whole cue and use your shaft as a back up.

twal...To be fair, it is the WANTED/For Sale forum, not just for sale. Also, I suggested the OP post in this section (as I posted threads for him in the Main and Ask A Cuemaker forums). He WANTS a cue with a slimmer butt. He is a new poster, and doesn't know much about azbilliards yet.
