Denali Cue Review

I recently had the pleasure of having a cue made for me by Bob Flynn of Denali Cues. This was a very unique experience, as Bob approaches cuemaking differently than anyone I've dealt with in the past.

He started off by having me choose a forearm, handle, and butt section from his rather large stock. We talked about what kind of rings, joint, ferrule, and buttcap the cue should have. We discussed weight, shaft diameter, etc. and the price including the required deposit (which was very reasonable) and then Bob created a worksheet for me and put a picture on it that had all the components in the correct order laying next to each other for the initial visuals.

Approximately a week later, he sent updated pictures of the initial cuts. A couple more weeks and I got pictures of the final cuts and was told it would be in the final spray within a couple of weeks. I received the cue in less than two months from the initial order!

The cue hits very solidly. It is extremely unique with eight different types of wood, an elk horn ferrule, buttcap, and joint, and water buffalo rings. The cue rolls very straight (cored with purpleheart) and was supplied in a felt sleeve with joint protectors and packaged in a heavy mailing tube.

Bob kept in touch regularly and was always right back to me when I emailed him. He is a true businessman and was very helpful in helping me choose the woods. I will be buying more cues from Bob, and I highly recommend him!

You should not photograph the cue with that case imo. It is stealing the cues thunder!

What case is that?

The case is a Mc Kernan. It's actually the perfect case for this cue with the variety of woods it is made from...

Bob Flynn is currently making me a cue, and thus far he has been a joy to deal with. I've never had a cue built for me before, and Bob beared with me over the telephone for a good hour - as I explained what I thought I wanted, and he responded with what would make the best playing cue. The mock-up pictures that Bob sent me look incredible, and I cannot wait for him to finish. He runs a first class operation.

Flips,

I couldn't agree more. Bob is a class act! I'm currently working up a new cue or two with him... Congrats on your new cue!
