Here is a cue I am finishing up for a fellow AZ'r (getting ready to apply the finish). The forearm and butt sleeve are Mexican granadillo and the handle is spalted sycamore. The joint(s), ferrule and butt cap are elk and the herringbone trim rings are tulip wood. The full length core is purple heart.

Thanks to all for their comments on the spalted Sycamore handle cue.
I am working on this one for Jeff in Wisconsin on that is similar but made with spalted PECAN instead of Sycamore. The forearm is Macassar ebony and the butt sleeve is Corona Olive (cut from a fallen olive tree in Corona California) compliments of Kent from KD Cues. The butt sleeve and joint will be Elk.
Spalted Sycamore, Pecan and Hickory are very similar and hard to distinguish
from one another. They must be cored, as you can see in the pic, and I like
to apply 6 to 10 coats of thin CA glue before applying the finish.

Hi Bob!
Great looking Cue! Your customer has good taste:)

Justin and I were just talking about you last night. I told him I have not talked with you in a while and I had no idea how far along my cue was.

To my suprise I get to see a picture today! It looks awesome, just what I had in mind. Kind of a two tone theme. I think it will look especially unique with the maple shaft screwed on, it will complete the look. The lower herring bone trim ring really stands out between the pecan and olive woods which has some meaning for me also being a nut for guitar music.

Can't wait to see it in person!
