Dragon Skin Cue

Several AZR's have e-mailed me for more info on the Dragon Skin cue(s) so I
thought I would do a FYI.

I developed the idea from a Japanese artist friend of mine in Kyoto, Japan.
He called it "Doragon Sukin' (dragon skin). The process is thousands of
years old and shows up in Sumari sword handles and high end Japanese pottery and lacquered wood items. The actual process is a hybrid of Notan, Urushi, Taka maki-e and gilding.

The process is complicated and, by virtue of its complexity, no two handles will ever be the same. The handle is made from silver foil, pounded very thin, with white (dragon bone), red and blue (fresh and old dragon blood) background (actually Japan paints). By contrasting silver, gold, Dutch metal and copper dramatic results can be achieved.

The actual dragon skin is below the finished surface, however it can be applied so that the dragon skin can actually be felt, much like a lizard skin wrap.
