Just finished this breaker for Blane in Kentucky. The butt is cut from a figured
billet of Purple Heart that incorporates the forearm and full length core.
The handle sleeve is Gaboon ebony and the pin G-10. My build technique
calls for a threaded butt cap (3/4-10) that places the butt sleeve and handle
in compression and the PH core in suspension. This helps the cue ball spring
off the tip, kind of like a multiplier effect found in aluminum baseball bats.
Anyway, the cue weighs 18.5 ounces and the shaft is oak with a G-10 ferrule and Samsara JB tip.
