I'm curious about these shafts and why a lot of players are using them right now.

Any insight would be appreciated..

Thanks,

shafts

Bar none the best playing cues PERIOD!!!!! he is a friend and played in my poolroom, and I was privilaged to have him do all my work for the room and my personal cues, and see his new cues on a weekly basis, its doesnt come out of his shop unless it is perfect. Untill youve played with one of his cues, or shaft you cant appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into everything he does, from tips to full cues, hes the best,,,,,,,hands down!!!!

Searing shafts, in my opinion, are qualitatively different from most. I can't say if it is his taper, ferrule or tip, but they feel good yet perform with much less deflection.

I am used to aiming to compensate for the anticipated squirt. With the Searing shaft, I must aim differently. I can still generate the cue ball movement I need while staying close to a center ball hit.

Truly, the Searing experience, for me, defies description. Try it for yourself. The only cue I ever used that I might say felt similar, was made by Ron Haley.

Dennis sweats every detail, you'll see it in his shaft work and feel it right away when you play.

I don't know if he is currently taking orders or not, but here is his contact info from the Blue Book of Cue Values:

From the time Dennis makes the first cut on a shaft blank until the time he puts a tip on the ferrule takes a total of 8 years. He makes one cut per year on several shafts at a time and then hangs them on a hook. This gives the wood plenty of time to do what comes naturally. (move) When it comes time to make the final cut, he probably throws away more wood than he keeps. Any slight imperfection in any part of the cue only makes it out of his shop by way of the dumpster. I wouldn't want to play with anything else.
