Dennis vs Ko, race to 100, 20K.

There are other factors..,

Can't speak for other pool halls but the ones I know are always very well protected. Someone looking to do that MIGHT make it in but they WOULD NOT make it out.

Where I gamble there are lots of cops in plane sight, we all know who they are and they aint worried about gambling, so if you show up there it might not work out good.

Jay,

Question, what do you think the key is for Dennis to win this match? Is it as simple as he has to break as good as Ko?

I won't go into that here because I may be betting on the match. Let's just say I have my reasons for feeling the way I do. The super tight table is only one of them.

escape from safeties

I dont bet but Dennis is 60-40 winner here.Major factor in this match will be safeties and anti safeties- meaning escape from safeties and dont leave an open shot(makeable shot) to your opponent,an area which Dennis is a lot better than Ko.Break and runs and bank shots here will have small stats cause of the pocket size and procut cushion pockets.
Anyway its gonna be a pay per view match worth every cent. That kind off money games just push a little pro - pool...there are lot of things must be done but pool is not snooker:frown:

race to?

The question was what will happen in the 99 possible games
According to my math 100 + 83 = 183 :rolleyes::

forgive me i thought it is a race to 100 and place my prediction for the final score:(
well in the 99 possible first game i say 61_38 Dennis

I don't know if Ko has played much money matches but anybody who has played these kind of matches know it's nothing like a tournament. That being said I think Dennis might not be as big an underdog as many here think.

Playing for big money is way different and Dennis is familiar with such matches.

Can't wait !

I am looking forward to watching 2 world class players slugging it out in a long set. I believe a long set shows a pro players skills more then short sets like races to 9 and under.

If 2 players played 20 sets that were races to 11 or more we would be able to see who won the most games, even if they did not win the most sets. So I hope it is winner breaks with magic rack on tight pockets.

The break is part of every pro players tool bag and if they don't have a world class break they can always put in some extra table time to perfect it.

I think KO will get this one. He may not have even peaked as a player yet. But I have been wrong before, just ask any one who has known me for a while!

Ko have win history over Dennis

Dennis was up 14-5 in a race to 15 and lost
Ko run all the frames:eek:

but this one is another story

Interesting.
Especially since gambling in a pool room is illegal in most states.
Being a "security guy" or "carrier" at an activity which is illegal in the first place is questionable. (LEO's nowadays can become quite volatile)
Remember Johnston City and the "bad asses" there and how they groveled for mercy when the bust came down.
I'm not trying to stir up debates with any of you experts. Just a few guys like myself were cutting up jackpots about it at the poolroom today and I thought I'd bring it up.
Life goes on...

Don't take my word for it Flash, but consider the possibility there is an open tournament at the pool room and the entry fee is $10,000 per player. Lo and behold only 2 guys in the room have the funds to participate. Would it not be alike to the Sunday night 9 ball tournament in which all participants enter at there own risk a game of skill (not luck like flipping coins at the spot/pulling high cards from a deck) involving a $10 entry fee? That's just my opinion of how to get around that shady side of gambling most people think of when they hear the word. The lottery is a very good example of degenerate gambling usually taken into habit by people who cannot afford to lose.

It is a race to 100 ,, first you said the final score would be 60-40 I asked what's going to happen in the next 99 possible games , you said 100 83 if that was meant to be your final score then the answer is 40-43

60-40 odds:embarrassed2:

This sounds like a tight table. With the break not as big of a factor, I say Dennis will win this match.

I didn't know that Steinway had such a tough table. Are they altering one of them to make it tighter for this match?

I'll take 20 games on the wire then on Dennis.

Joey,

Be careful betting against SamLambert. He has been following their playing styles and playing abilities since he started playing Pool way back in July of 2015.

Actually, he might have 5.5 months in, by now...

Eric

Upstate Al says GC3, 4" pockets.

I'm going with Dennis on this one. Watching Ko at the U.S open and Turning Stones, Ko looks very vulnerable playing against Dennis on a super tight table.

Match starts 6pm eastern Wednesday.
