Deno Supremo

I, too ...

Feel that Deno was an excellent choice, and has been proven many times over. His interest, elegance, patience, and administration of his duties are on the highest levels. I was happy to read his insights about the IPT and the qualifiers, and amazed that he was writing them at 3 am. Sometimes you don't realize there are other insomniacs out there in the world ....
unless you happen to be playing one ... lol

With all the pro's and con's being posted concerning the IPT, you never see anything but pro's regarding Deno Andrews. When compared with the "lightening rod twins", Mike and Kt, Deno emerges as a thoughtful, approachable ambassador for the tour. If the IPT is a rousing success, Deno will take his rightful place as one of the most powerful and influential people in pool (if he's not already there).

I quadruple that

Deno is the best just look at his picture in the Blue Book.

pro9dg His input into the IPT has obviously been substantial and I listened as he tried to explain his Games Lost Index (GLI) to people who thought they knew better. It is a very good system that almost eliminates dumping and his perseverence generally gets through to everyone except the mathematically challenged. Classic move Kevin[/QUOTE said:
is there somewhere online that i could take a look at what this index is and how it works?

thanks.

Deno J Andrews Always immaculately dressed, he looks like he had just stepped out of the shower.

If he asks for my opinion I will tell him to STOP wearing the single Breast three button suits. He will be better off wearing double breasted suit to cover the bulges around the waistline.I will also remind him to be mindfull of the length of the suit jacket.

* The Games Lost Index (GLI) is the average number of games lost per match by a player in a tournament. Another way to think of it is the average number of games per match a player’s opponents wins against that player in a tournament. For example, a player who plays five matches (winning three) with scores of 9/3, 9/4, 9/4, 6/9. 7/9 will have a GLI of 5.8. Here is the calculation: [3+4+4+9+9] / 5, or 29 / 5= 5.8. The index will be calculated to three decimal places.

It can be found under the KOH press releases at http://www.internationalpooltour.com/ipt_content/news/press_release13.asp

The only thing I don't like about the GLI is that you can beat a person head to head, but that person will advance over you because of a lower GLI instead of the win percentage.

And yes, Deno is the BOMB! Professional in all aspects, and a sweetie too!

Deno is very professional, and a real pleasure to talk pool with - good, patient listener and explains himself very well.
