Denver and Colorado Springs

If you are in to old time run down dumpy pool rooms I would suggest a visit to Hanks on 38th and Sheridan in Wheatridge.
Its been a pool room under several names since the '60s.
Mile High Billiards is primarily 7 foot diamonds.
There are some 9 foot diamonds but the pockets are stupid tight and not fun to play on.
There is a 12 foot snooker table with a 9 foot pool cue made by Erie Martinez.
Over all Felt is the best pool room in the Denver area.

Felt sounds good. We're getting used to crappola pool rooms in our area. We like to play local shortstops etc. which are now sparse in the Central Coast of CA. We both can play and it's kind of fun finding non-champions to spar with. I vastly prefer 9' tables, diamonds with pro cut pockets are just right.

Are the tables new? How many 9' diamonds are there? Is this a new room?

I believe all the diamonds are new (around 5-7 total I believe) and I don't believe the snooker table is new, but I think it has new cloth and appeared to be in great condition. I've only been there a couple times and don't make it over there that often. Like the other guy said, knowing Dave, there will always be action and I trust he'll always have his equipment in decent condition. Dave is a player himself and he's very particular about equipment, the way tourneys are run, etc. There are top players there on a regular basis.

Sounds great, I think I heard some folks at Felt talking about it the other day. I'll have to check it out soon.

So, went to Denver on Thursday. My buddy Dave and I rented BMW 1200 GS adventure bikes and road to the top of Mt. Evans, the highest paved road in the USA, over 14,000 feet. What an incredible day and we just missed all the thunderstorms. Stopped by Felt and had a great dinner at Steakhouse 10 in Englewood.

We golfed at Castle Pines 2 days, then on to Colorado Springs. We were rained out at Arrowhead but golfed at Broadmoor in perfect weather Sunday. Broadmoor is definitely among the finest golf courses I've ever played.

Played pool and snooker at Antiques in Colorado Springs two nights. Met a one pocket player there (he owns a liquor store) can't think of his name now. It was fun.

Pic from the bike ride - I'm on the left.
