Finally made it up to Derby and I'm glad I did. Always go to tourneys to play, but this trip was almost all about cues.

Here are the 4 that I picked up. Sugartree, South West(300 pin#/1st cue of 2003), Mottey, and oh yes, umm, a Gus Szamboti...lol.

I'm really pleased and I hope you guys enjoy.

Thanks for looking, Jerry

fire sale?

Was there a sale at the Derby? Those are some excellent cues. Congrats on all the cues. What will be your player cue?

Thanks guys for the kind words.

To answer a couple of questions:

Many dealers are set up there and a lot of other people bring cues with them. Don't want or mean to forget anybody, but here are a few that were there. Don of Sure Man Cues(thanks for the my 1st Gus buddy), Tim Cole(thanks as well), Joe Salazar, Mike Capone, Omega, etc.

No buddy, I can't sell that Sugar yet. Stiffest hit ever and it has an ebony nose, I also love that blood wood.

Thanks again for the compliments guys, Jerry

That's quite a haul. Big congrats. Would've loved to hit a few balls with the Gus. Sorry we missed each other. Maybe next year.

Great talking to you,
JimmyK

Great looking cues, to bad they are warped. I buy warped cues at a discount, PM me for further details

I wonder who else got quite a haul...lol.

The Gus plays strong and lives up to the hype, his reputation was earned and he still lives on through his extraordinary cues. I love your Barry, I just wanted to get a Gus and then get a Barry whenever time and money allow.

I look forward to meeting you next year, if not before.

Thanks Jimmy, Jerry

I ask out of line prices for my warped cues. The more warped they are, the higher the prices go. The reserve is set at $18,000 in my head, since these weren't warped as bad as I 1st thought...lol

Thanks for the laugh, Jerry

Did one of the guys set up have the Sugartree...??

I don't see how I would have missed thst... I would have definitely found the funds for it

I can't even begin to imagine the fun, excitement and satisfaction one must derive from just having a shopping spree for pool cues.
And we aren't just talking run of the mill cues either...........I mean these are some monster cue-makers you just acquired.

My orientation to cue buying has always been singular and sequential, i.e., one at a time. It's obvious you are playing in the MLB when it comes
to cues while I simply barn-storm around in High A League baseball. It must be incredibly satisfying to return home with an armful of pool cues.

Had some time to think of some more dealers and members that were there while the Broncos were getting beat down. Some of these people I met for the 1st time. I'll bet a hundred that I'm still leaving some out.

Jaimie (Worminator),John Barton, Greg (Howard the dick), Steve Lomax, Joe Blackburn, Mike Massey, Stake Horse, Mars Man, KtownD, Double A, Take it down, wade, Terry McCloud, Ray 'Big Truck' Hanson, and many others that I'm sure I forgot to mention.

It was nice to meet and socialize with everyone.

And it also helps when there is someone beside you sayin Dooooo IT!!!!!!

If everyone only knew the rest of the story on that Gus. I could have had it right out of the gate, but it was over 24 hours later. Lets just say that I was up 47 out of 49 hours during one stretch when I made that deal.

Lack of sleep is nothing new at Derby, but it's usually due to the tourney and the action, not cue purchasing. I may tell the story at some point, but I usually type too much shit at one time when I post and this could take a while.

Good seeing you again buddy, Jerry

It was on display. I spied it on Friday and got it just before I left on Saturday night. Sorry you didn't see it, but I'm kind of glad...lol
