Well - I got back home this morning at 8:00am with my bankroll intact and pumped up. Not from gambling though - I broke about even on that score.
Some things: No matter who was matched up for what you could be sure that at least five different versions were being told around the DCC at the same time. More money passed between pool players and railbirds than I have ever seen anywhere.
Last reports I have are as follows: Rachel Abink got her ass spanked by Niki Benish for $1500. I saw a one-ball one pocket game for a hundred a game turn into a $700 a game regular one pocket match. I heard that TJ from Ohio had lost over $20,000 during the event - but again who the &^&$## knows what really happened. We need a pool action reporter to get the details on these things.
Me and my road partner played Billy Palmer, who I have named Billy Banks. I ended up three game loser after trading games for a while and my road partner did the same. Billy, inpsired by his "hard won" victory over us went on to finish third in the one pocket behind Efren and Marco Marquez

) Billy wuz skeert to give us a spot! I barked at him to give me 3 on the wire in a race to five if I played with the Bunjee jump cue for $500 and he declined. Later he asked me if I would play that game and I offered to play him that way for a $100 since I had by then gotten a line on him. He "wisely" declined and went on to kill the field in one-hole. Billy Banks coming to a town near you to shoot your bankroll full of holes

)
And with that I have to say that my first Derby City Classic was an absolute blast. EVERYONE THAT CAN GO SHOULD GO.
Peace, out.
