Derby City Banks and One Pocket

I shoot that one all the time

Not sure I've made it yet.
I've often thought about shots like this. When you are a top player and you shoot it AND don't scratch or get hooked, you on the hero side. When you shoot it, miss it and either scratch or sell out, you're a fool.

I also believe there are points in any game where you have a 70/30 against shot where if you make it you win, and if you make it you lose, where a safer shot prolongs the game and maybe gets you a win.

What do you think?

Sure, that's the crux of the game. But there's extra value in getting out after a ridiculous flyer. Or even just watching those balls roll all around the table and do just what you pictured they would. (Even if it happens as expected only 1 in 5 times.) Have some fun! Depends on the stakes of course; at $10/game I'm shooting more of those than @ $100.

fedor makes a straightback (he has missed quite a few) after justin's scratch. 2-2 ball score

3-3...

Not a bank pool player, but when Justin pocketed the 8 that was hanging. Wouldn't it have been better to make it and scratch? Now you're down 4-3, but there's 2 balls spotted and Fedor doesn't have anything easy.

Seems like if you just pocket the 8 like he did, it's going to be real tough to leave Fedor safe.
