I've been watching a lot of the streaming on youTube and especially the banks matches. Never saw them before, and have been figuring out the rules by watching. I see that a ball that drops without being called, or on a bad hit, gets spotted at the end of that turn. Sometimes the shooter spots it, sometimes the other guy as he comes to the table. But I'm also noticing that after their turn is over, a lot of shooters seem to reach down where the balls are before leaving the table area. It looks like they're reaching for a ball to spot, but they don't, and then then leave the frame of the camera.
