If one could only go to Derby City for a weekend, which weekend would you say and what would be the must-do's while there?

Watch the TV table and the other matches from the second floor. Much better seats and multiple table viewing without the crowd... plus you don't have to sit by Ken....Just kiddin bud.lol

You MUST play from 12-??? to get in practice other than right before your match. I averaged going to sleep at 6am and getting up at 11am. Never saw the casino or the boat/barge.

You also MUST wear VERY comfortable shoes. A lot of walking, a lot. Like Disney world walking.

Just left.

This post reminded me of another thing. As stated above tables, while available for play after midnight, are more rarely available now that bigger crowds have returned to the DCC with the improving economy. My recommendation is take the short trip into Louisville and check out the awesomely unique poolroom, Bank Shots. It's a really cool place set in an old bank with nice equipment. You'll get out of the Horseshoe for a bit, get to play, and hang out in an awesome room.

I learned my lesson by walking my but off after the first day and hopped that golf cart every chance i got. They also ran out of tokens in the machines for playing about 7:30 this morning. I think it killed Durbins action...

Durbins action?

ABSOLUTELY WEAR SOME SERIOUSLY COMFORTABLE SHOES. I PLAYED LIKE HELL. TIRED LEGS AND SWOLLEN ANKLES AND FOGGY MIND FROM GRINDING WITH LITTLE SLEEP.

The security guy told me its a 1/4 mile from the hotel to the area with tables and another to the boat/casino which I never even saw. Lol.

The Asian restaurant was very good. Rooms were hot and couldn't get the AC to cool.
