DerbyCity going to Nashville...???

Someone in the chat said that Chad at D'mond has already stamped 'bad rumor' on this. Their contract at Caesar's is up this year so who knows what's gonna happen.

Caesars is very poorly ran on the Corp level. Their Vegas properties suck too. It’s possible they price themselves right out of the deal and Chad wakes up and shops around for a new venue. That’s not out of the realm of possibilities.

Additionally this venue is a big long in the tooth and a new venue isn’t a bad idea at all.

Isn't there a Caesars in NOLA? ;)

I can see why Diamond would want to stay put.

It's close to the factory and after all these years they know the "lay of the land" and stringing up lights, placing tables and banners, and the overall logistics of the event are almost automatic. Starting from scratch in a new joint would be tough... but perhaps best for the long term health of the event. Who knows, we'll see. I would hope that if they stay they squeeze some additional concessions from Caesars in terms of room prices that suddenly get jacked up, and food and amenities for the players there for a week.

Grand Sierra resort casino in Reno? Yeah I know it will never happen. Sure would be nice to see some major tournament take place in this part of the country, (in the norther California part of Nevada). It’s been a long time since the Sands Regency stopped hosting them.

"major tournament take place in this part of the country"....huh? Where is Vegas?

That opryland area is impressive. Was just there recently with my granddaughter to see ICE. Also just read a local new report that Gaylord is investing another pile of millions into it yet still for meeting spaces, outdoor meetings, ballroom and sports arenas. It’s the largest hotel in the nation without a casino, drives ten minutes from downtown which is one of the fastest growing cities in the nation. Near the airport and tons of food at that location and hotels…..very inexpensive.
it would be a great location for any annual event, especially this one.
‘just sayin…..

You’re right I should have been more specific, I was thinking in terms of something closer to northern California which would be more in terms of Reno. Again it won’t happen just wishful thinking.

I was told by someone who would know for absolute certain that they have 2 more years on their contract at Caesars SI. Additionally that they are working on extending it too. Also, that they have plans to do 4-6 “tour stops” in various cities around the country but that’s likely a few years away from realization.

The "it's close to headquarters" has to be the dumbest reason ever - once the tables go in a truck all that's left is driving, doesn't matter if it's 1hr or 10. Point is, the hard part is loading and unloading then setup.

Shithole location, terrible food and no more action award which was the whole reason behind the derby.

Everybody hates the venue, just move it.
