Hi all,

I'm in Detroit, staying for a few days...
I'd be interested in exploring the local pool scene. I'm looking for pool room recommendations, and to possibly meet some forum members.

Are you staying downtown ? there's alot of rooms in the area, some are really good and some are so so but it all depends what your looking for. If your looking for action you can go to the blue diamond in detroit or you can head out to hall of fame in warren. Let me know where youre at ill help ya as much as i can
 
What time are you available to shoot around? I can meet you at Hall of Fame at 13 Mile and Mound in Warren and then maybe take you to Blue Diamond if you have time. I should be at the poolroom around 2PM til 5 or so and then back around 730PM. Just ask for me if you make it up there.

I'm staying in the very south of Hamtramck near the interchange of I75 and I94.
It looks like I can get out to Hall of Fame by bus + 30min walk relatively easily. I can try to shoot for between 2 and 3pm today (monday) if that works for you.

Well if I can't save you the bus trip I would at least be able to save you the walk and pick you up at a bus stop. If you decide to hang around pool late, me or someone else could drop you back off if the bus lines stop early. I also plan to check out Blue Diamond Bar at night because there are rumors of a potential great matchup in the works. Since you love pool, tomorrow could be pretty eventful if things pan out.
 
Who is matching up tonight at Blue Diamond. I have heard some road players have been in town in the past few months.

Nothing too big was happening at Blue Diamond when I left. Danny Smith and Chris Gentile were playing in Toledo so some of the players went down there to sweat that game.
 
Do you know how they are playing, Danny beat Chris a set at the derby awhile back, don't know how they were playing then either. Tom
 
I thought they were playing even but I wasn't there to verify. I heard through the grapevine that Chris won the race to 6 last night.
