I going the talk to a cuemaker sunday about making a second shaft for my wifes cue. What is a good dia. to play with. The ones I see on the racks where I play seem very small. Any suggestions? She uses a 13.25 dia. now and was thinking of having it reduced, but I suggested a 2nd new one, in case she doesn't like it her classic with still be intacked.

If you are using standards 2-1/6 balls I would suggest no larger than 10mm. If you are looking for a straight taper I build snooker cues and may be able to help as I have some shafts from stock to fit pool cues.

most snooker cues have 9-10mm tips. 9.5mm is probably the most common size, it's right in the middle.

Jimmy Conners son goes up to his dad and says he wants to play tennis and needs a racquet. Does Jimmy give him his old one albeit restrung or buy him a carbon/ graphite/ whatever they use nowadays that is lighter stronger and more powerful?

No brainer aint it? If she's going to play snooker dont faf around with a bodge job get her a proper cue.
