I've noticed that, when a player scratches, the cue ball is directed to the collection tray at the head of the Diamond 9' table.
What mechanism is Diamond using to direct the cue ball to the head of the table...?? Is it the same or different from
their barbox tables...??

The smart table uses a optical sensor to separate out the cb.

Yes, the same sensor mechanism 7’ and 9’ Smart tables.
 
At the bar we play masters at we use a different set of balls for leagues the table seems to get confused by the cue ball lol sometimes it goes to the head of the table sometimes the foot lol you never know
 
Optical density sensor. It needs to be adjusted to work properly. They can be picky about certain balls. The original manual calls for red circle cue balls only.
