Diamond pocket question…

Nothing is perfect in life and for diamonds it seems you still get the black marks on the balls lol So what have you all done to maybe stop this from happening and also you can see the mark at the back of the pocket where the ball hits constantly. this is the pocket I seem to favor for stroke drills. What are you using to clean them. I would Think leather cleaner would get on the balls.

I've had Diamond Tables in my Bar for 15 years, 2 were new, 1 was used. After 15 years we still get the occasional black smear on the balls. I've alchoholed them, used leather conditioners, glass cleaner, furniture polish, I've tried everything. Glenn suggested using black duct tape on the backs of the pockets to keep the balls from contacting the leather. I didn't think it was worth all that, so I just run them through the Diamond polisher. I actually had this problem with some replacement pockets for my Brunswick table. I used some sticky 4" wide velcro strips (soft side) and stuck them where the ball was hitting the back of the pocket. Worked like a charm and barely noticeable since its black on black.
