Diamond pro am still leaving black marks on balls.

Black marks.

I'm not sure what happened between RKC and myself, I asked a question and through other people he somehow thought assumed That I was complaining Which was not the case, I sent Glem my adress and cell number to discuss this issue personally to show that I was not attacking Diamond in any way., I just want my pockets to stop leaving black marks on the balls, I paid good American money for a great american Table and I am very happy with my Purchase and If something were to ever come down that I need to Buy another pool table, I would Buy another Diamond Table in a heartbeat! (With Brown pockets of coarse! J/K)

marks

I play at a nice room that has one 9' diamond. I see the black marks all the time (I carry my own set of balls so I know when they are clean and the diamond table definitely puts the marks on them).
I really like the table and just ignore the marks and clean the balls but if anyone can tell me how to stop the marks that would be great.

Diamonds

I love diamonds too wish my wife would have a change of heart, she's got hers.

I wish I had an answer for you, I talked with Paul at Diamond on this very issue, They are aware of it but could only offer up a few Bandaids as it were,None of which you could do to a table that wasn't yours, Keep fallowing Az. He said if they come up with a cureall he will post it on here. If you would like more info, Feel free to Pm me, After what happened between me and RKC I'll keep my ideas/ coments to my self for now!

I'll tell you what, take some hand sanitizer, put it on a rag and wipe out all the excess dye in the back of the leather pockets that the balls come into contact with and all your black marks will be gone...because there's no more excess dye to get on the balls. And nothing happened between us that I'm aware of:rolleyes:

I have had a Diamond Pro for over 4 years - still get black ball marks - even when balls are not "fired in". And they are not easy to get off unless you use what I recently started using: gel hand sanitizer. This does easily remove the marks - - I am still trying to find a solution that works to stop the pockets from marking the balls - -I have tried with little success all the methods mentioned here by others.

Use the hand sanitizer on the pocket liners every where the balls come into contact, wipe off the excess dye from the leather, then there won't be any dye to get on the balls.

Great advice there! I will have to try this out.

Just got a 7' diamond pro-am. If you fire the balls in the pocket you will bet the black marks. I put rubbing alcohol on a rag and wiped off alot of the excess dye. This seemed to help. So it is something really easy you can try.

Just an idea...some companies use environmentally friendly water based dyes that will rub off like that. My buddy had a problem like that with his table and a local leather worker told him he could redye with a different oil based dye and fix the problem. Don't know if he tried it yet though. Don't know what dye Diamond pockets have but maybe could be the issue.

diamond tables are perfect. there is nothing wrong with any diamond table on the planet. They are made by aliens with special alien wood that is indestructible. The leather is also made by aliens from alien animals that are fed a diet of kryptonite so not even superman can harm a diamond.

Hi, I have a 7' Diamond pro am bought new by me and delivered and installed by Diamond themselves . I posted a few months ago aking for help and got a few responces, I tried them all and still have those Damn black marks on the balls after every game and I can't seem to get rid of them, The table is less than 2 yrs old. Myself and my Gf are the only ones who play on it. I've tried the shoe polish trick to no avail. Does any one else have any Ideas, I hav emailed Diamond a couple of times and have not heard back from them yet. Thanks in Advance, TODD

Todd, have you tried the hand sanitizer?

Black marks on balls from pockets

I wipe the pockets where the balls hit with alcohol as in an earlier post. This makes the black mark problem better, I think if you did it enough times until the rag you wiped with no longer turned black the problem might go away. By then you would probably have brown leather pockets.Diamond needs to fix this problem, they are great tables, but many other brands with black leather don't leave marks. We have four nine foot Diamond tables and have a few new players who come in just because of them.

Glen,

I have a 9' Diamond Pro-Am that I love, and have this problem as well. Thanks for the great advice.

I was just wondering if there is a specific brand of hand sanitatizer I should get? I just want to make sure there isn't a specific ingredient in a certain brand that others don't have.

Thanks again for the tip!!!

Pretty much any of the gel sanitatizers will work as a dye cleaner:D
