those prices seem pretty high to me, i dunno. the Gold Crown holds its value really well, but i am surprised a used Diamond table would be worth that much.
with the light, cloth, installation, delivery, etc, i'd say no more than $3,000 at the absolute most.

A used Gold Crown III go for around 2K here in Socal. At $2500, it's a hard sale. But, that's GCIII which is not as nice as the Diamond Pro.DrCue'sProtege said:

I think to buy the table and light outright, $4000 is a pretty good buy. You said the seller is asking for an offer... I don't suggest starting at $4000Doug said:
Even if you pay $4K for the table and light you still have to factor in deilivery and installation. To have a professional do this it should run $300-450. If you want to recover the table with Simonis tack on another $300-450. I live in Ohio and we charge $525 to dismantle/move/recover/set-up a 9' Diamond Pro. This would put you a little over $4500...And thats about as much as its worth. Like Joey said if you can get the table for $3K...thats a steal.

It's easy to tell because the ball return is the coin-op kind - they have a window so you can see the balls where you would put your money. Obviously, the tables were opened for free play. Your "horses [sic] mouth" info may be a special FOR the US Open, but these are not the tables USED in the Open. BTW, "+ shipping" means delivery is NOT included.
One of the reasons I remember so well is because when we switched over to using the TV balls, the 4 ball kept getting stuck in the ball return, or getting sent to the CB return. In the TV ball set, the 4 ball is pink, so I guess the light recognition system of the Smart Table was getting hosed by the color of the 4 ball. Professionals don't have this problem since there isn't a CB return.
Of course, things can change, maybe Barry is using Professionals instead of the Smart Tables this year, wouldn't be the first time I was wrong.... I guess we'll find out shortly.

I bought my 9' Diamond Professional for $3600 used. I got the table, light, and matching chairs all in oak. I picked it up, bought new cloth, and set it up myself. I feel like I got a steal! It really comes down to what you think it is worth but this should give you a feel for the going rates.

Diamond Pro prices...
I am pretty sure the tables you are talking about are one-piece slate for that price. (Tournament tables) I bought mine from the factory and picked it up myself for 4500. Great tables, and anything less than 4k is a great buy. Used doesn't matter. They are built better than the gc's, and the leather pocket covers are VERY sweet. Just my thoughts, Scott
