This happened in the 70's long time ago, but Im sure a lot of pool tables end up going with the house to this day as A lot of people don't want to move them and a lot of people don't want to buy used ones if they don't have the experience to move and put it together.

I live in South Florida most of the houses built in the 60s 70s 80s in developments the biggest room in the house might be 12 x 15 and that's probably going to be their living room. They don't even have room for a bar table. They don't have basements down here.

I was lucky enough to find a house with a family room that was 22x25 with no post. Pretty remarkable since it was the bottom floor. I used my table for a couple of years, and then it was idle since the pool hall was 10 minutes away with tournaments and players. I could have had a 6x12 snooker table in there as well.

By 'plays better' just exactly what does that entail 'TO YOU'?? Balls go on the break?? If you think this new D'mond will be some magic table elixir you are well-n-truly mistaken. Can't wait to hear to tales of woe when you still can't make a ball.

as humid as you say your room was, you really needed 760. It makes a world of difference in humid basements.

My main poolroom was next to a creek and about 75% underground. Was humid as hell. It had brand new GC4’s in about 2000 (and GC1’s before). The owner would change the cloth every 6 months. Always 760. When the owner tried 860 one year, everyone hated it. Was slow as a valley bar table from 1990 with beer stains. He went back to 760 6 months later and all was well in the world.

Other rooms 10 min away, but not underground, and not near a creek, all had GC4’s with 860 and played fine. Only the humid room needed 760.

Can you make a video? You don't have to show yourself on camera, just show the table and do a couple breaks so we can see the layout.

I don't know if you ever mentioned anything about your breaking technique which could be the culprit (for the 55,000th time)

Do you break from the side rail? Do you break inside of the break-box like Matchroom? Are you hitting the 1-ball full or cutting it slightly? Are you using a magic rack to ensure a tight rack?

My house I sold that will be torn down soon as I sold to a developer. Built in the 1920s has 24 rooms and I had to knock out a wall to put in a table.

Another problem I have known people ran into in Florida are HOAs. It you want to put it in your garage you can't park outside or get fined.

if you cant run out in the first place. no break other than making 6 or 7 on the break is going to give you run out potential.
 
besides there are very few that can runout even with a good spread. and takes about a 700 plus player or better to be able to bet on that.

and that is with a really good spread.

If you get an accu-rack template, rack the 1 ball on the foot spot, break from just off one of the side rails and can’t get a nice spread to potentially run out when you make a ball on the break and get an opening shot at the first ball, it’s not the table, it’s your break.
