DIAMONDBACK Stuff

I've been shooting with my Diamondback laminated tip for 3 months now. Im VERY impressed with it. Expensive as hell but as much pool as i play, it's holding up more than my last moori medium did. I was fortunate to get one of them before they hit the market. Paid $24.00 for it plus $15 for install. Upgraded to it on my Predator 314 shaft on my Schon.
Its hitting very well and after a few matches with it, I did a length of table jump shot WITH MY SHOOTING CUE over a 1/4 of a ball, MADE the shot and drew back inside the cluster for shape on my 4 ball. I can honestly say that I have never acheived that reaction before. Tip hasnt mushroomed yet.
I know of 7 people just in my league alone that are using it and raving about it. THEN I saw a guy two nights ago with a pocket chalker with a REAL Rattlesnake rattle on it and I asked him where he got it. He told me about it and lo and behold is the SAME company of my tip. So he told me the website (which went public in a few weeks ago and which BTW kicks ass). I called them up and they wernt like most companies where they tell u about the product and get you off the phone. The guy ( James) talked about pool with me for over 5 minutes and told me about that ATROX Tool they have coming out soon and added me to the reserve list. I orderd a rattle chalker and it's on its way to me. The damn thing really rattles when claking the cue. It's wicked cool. Despite them selling just to dealers they will sell to us regulars but only at the suggested price. But I paid it for the rattle chalker and they threw in some free Tip Venom with my order. If its any consilation, they are USA company.
Their website is www.killerstroke.com
Oh BTW, I also signed up with them which they are offering a free Vegas trip.

Who else has gotten their stuff so far? Im curious to know.

I saw their add in Billiards digest and was intrigued. Nice site and what looks to be nice products. Cant wait to here more reviews.

What do you mean about Efren?

I simply mean that although I'm certain this company makes fine products, it's yet another example of the specialization of billiard equipment. I mean, I've been playing this game a long time. I don't rough-up my tip EVER, I shape my tip once (when I first get it) and the only reason why I use a laminated tip is they last longer than Le Pros and they don't mushroom.

When you speak of better draw, I'm clueless. I don't get it. I draw the same with everything decent.

I brought up Reyes because honestly, I don't see many professional players making as much a fuss over products like these as intermediate players do. I rarely hear a player say, "OMG, you have to get this tip!" and if they really like a product (such as a break or jump cue), they'll say just that.

I just have this picture in my head of Reyes holding the rattlesnake tip-holder with a look of confusion and a smile on his face. :)

Well , when I meant draw , I didnt mean better draw. I wasnt trying to get that much action off of it , it just happened that way. I agree with you. I dont rough up my tip either. I think the worst thing a person could do is use a Tip pic or something that takes that leather OFF. Now, Marcus ( friend of mine) uses that Tip Venom stuff on his Lepro tip. He's says its helpin so far. He has a tendency to BLAST shots when it is necessary.

Yeah , I could see Efren with a rattlesnake chalker shaking that rattle between shots. It would get alot of attention im sure. But after all the money he's made this year he could get one in solid gold. lol

Why should Efren care about products like this.Maybe a future sponcer of a turnament or possible endorsement or sponcership for a up incoming player.Player's like Efren should indorse products like this.

I dont think he should either. I just thought it be funny. I really dont think pro endorsements of products doesnt have an impact as much as people think. I mean Allison Fisher hasnt made me think of a reason why to buy her stuff. Johnny Archer and the scorpion is cool but its graphite cue isnt it? What's up with everyone promoting fishing rods which are graphite cues?

I really thought this thread was a joke. Until I opened their website...I still kept waiting on the "Halloween" scare where something jumps out, really loud in an attemp to put some Halloween fright into your azz.
Everyone knows any SNIPER kills a rattlesnake with one shot.
(Tony from Tiger...just send the check to my address.:D )

You know that's the thing. Ive tried the Sniper tip before. I had one put on back in Dec 2004 and within a week it fell apart, layers were seperating. My cue repair man put another one on it for no charge and it held up for a few months then it did the same thing again. I then switched to a moori. had that one for about 8 months then put on another moori. Only recently did all this hub bub about the Diamondback tip locally did I cave in to my buddy and i tried it. He plays alot of money games. He likes it so far. I like it also because its BLACK. Pretty cool.

Yes ... there are people who are anti-snake or anti-spider. Im way anti snake and the opening to their website freaked me out a tad bit. But i went back to it again today and its okay now. Pretty clever for them.

I also like the site shootthebull.com

And of course scratching the back of his head as he nods and smiles with that toothless grin as he always does when he's either made a really bad mistake, or is faced with a situation where he's not quite sure what to do.

Wrap pressor? I just went back to their site. It took me awhile to see what it was you said. The only thing I found was on that ATROX tool. Hard to tell where they would have a wrap pressor. But it says that it does. Hmmm ... interesting.

Beyond the shadow of a doubt...your Sniper was not correctly installed. Call Tiger and they will walk you through the process. If your cueman starts trimming the Sniper with the tool on his lathe...just stop him & ask for your shaft & money back.;)

I just got back from pool league. There were 4 guys there tonight that had the Diamondback tip. One had a leather one put on 4 weeks ago. The cue guy here has them and he said that he has put on about 31 of them since getting them in. He asked how mine was holding up. Which I told him that its doing real good and it's really hitting well for me. David is a skill level 9 and big Mel is an 8 in 9 ball. They BOTH said its better than the moori. I asked about the sniper to our cue guy, he said that he has had many of those come back. He attributed it to a bad batch. But he said tonight that lately they have been fine.

Which BTW , I won my match. I destroyed him 55 to 11. And he was a skill level 6. I've won 11 of my last 12 9 ball matches. So, yes , I do indeed like this Diamondback tip.

Your "cue guy" simply doesn't know how to properly install a Sniper. Its been discussed in this forum a gazillion times.;)

There's no need to get all hostile about it. Apprantley you must be a seller of the Sniper. Our cue guy has been doing it for over 17 years. He knows his stuff. He sells all kinds of tips. I've had Moori and other tips on before. I just thought I'd share something I thought was cool and seemed like an opportunity to share with all the pool bretheren about a good product. Wanted to hear feedback from anyone else that may have found the new tip. That's all.

I just joined this forum. Hope it's not a forum of dealers and sellers that pounce on people just because they found something new to try.

I'm starting to wonder if you're a Diamondback dealer or seller.

Me too. I am also wondering if John Schmidt is getting endorsement $$$ from Diamondback. Look at the website, it is a congrats to JS type thing, but the photo is trying to insinuate that John uses Diamondback tips, IMO.

Yes, I noticed that as well. Maybe John could shed some light as he posts on this forum. The ad doesn't say that JS endorses Diamondback tips, but a naive website visitor might come out believing that. Could be likeness rights violated here.

I immediately felt the OP is a seller or dealer for Diamondback because he started out talking about how great the tips are. By the end of the post he managed to promote every single product Diamondback offers, mention their website and a chance for a free trip to vegas. I didn't say anything earlier for fear that people might think I'm just being a bastard.:D Then I saw this.

I wouldn't mind if he flat out said he was from Diamondback but this kind of thing bothers me.

EDIT: Just noticed if you scroll over to the right, beside the John Schmidt picture, there's a link to AZ biliards. This means that the folks at Diamondback are well aware of this site. They wouldn't try and promote their product on the biggest pool forum would they?.:D
