did i get riped off

I have two titieist but the colors are not bright and it looks like one is white oak but the colors in the vaneers are not purple what does this mean. Can some one tell me what year that are did I get riped off or can that be good conversions thanks

I have had a few and some of them didnt look to good untill they were cut down, I cant tell for sure from the picks, but they look OK to me.
 
The colors are still there! You just have to go down a little to see them. Hopefully they are a little thick to allow for turning. You will be suprised at what is beneath that old age.
 
The older ones have slightly subdued colors than the later ones anyway. But those colors will pop a lot more when the Cue Maker sands/turns it down some. They are oxidized on the surface.

They look pretty decent to me, but I'm no expert. I would think the CM would let you know if they were unsuitable or if there were defects. Obviously we can't put a caliper on a picture etc.

I'm betting you're going to get some nice conversions there. :)
 
Never consider yourself to have been ripped off if you can find a fairly straight Titlist that has enuff meat on it to be useful for a conversion.

Like Doc said, the colors will brighten up a bit after the cue is sanded and refinished.
