I thought I saw on here that Dr. Dave ( or sombody ) had posted a test that showed predator shafts didnt deflect any less then a normal shaft. If someone could please post a link to that i would be much greatfull.
 
Think I remember some thing like that. It stated that LD Shafts deflect more than standard shafts resulting in a lower cue ball squirt....randyg
 
My unscientific hypothesis is that the LD shaft deflects MORE than "traditional" shafts to result in LESS cueball misdirection.

A major design criteria is the removal of as much mass as possible from the tip-end of the shaft...less weight, more shaft deflection, less cueball misdirection. Predator does it with light-weight plastic ferrules & hollowed shafts, OB does it with maple ferrules & hollowed shafts.

The lamination seen in these shafts simply provides consistency.

IMO, ferrule-less shafts will become more common in the future with ferrules used only for aesthetics.
