Did You Ever Have "That Night?"

When I have a night...

What keeps me playing pool and believing in my ability to become an A level player is the "nights". My nights only occur maybe once a month. When it does happen good rolls have nothing to do with it. Everything happens as I visualize it. These nights happen when I have relatively little on my mind. Stress and anxiety about work and personal issues murder my game. I also find that if I am exercising regularly my nights happen more frequently. I never have a good night when I drink. Stay sober, stay fit, find some way to deal with stress better.

you're just realizing this now???! This board is full of champions. I'm scared to play anyone on it without the 5-out and the snaps. and odds.

Hey, you got the odds part from me, although I actually truely need the weight, on the pool table that is...lol.

I actually had two weeks of "that night". It was great. Couldn't miss and every leave was perfect. Played most of the best players in this area and really took it to them. Must have won 50 strait games of 8-ball. I thought I'd finally arrived.

Then just like a snap of the fingers it was over. Since then the exact opposite has been happening. Cannot hit a shot, not getting even close to a leave. Stroke is gone and am way out of line. Even my practice is embarrassing.

Just keep plugging away at it. Hope I can get "it" back before the 6th. I'll need "it" for a big tourny.

I can handle my own pretty good without having to be in dead-stroke. But I'm currently not even close to playing my usual game.
