Dieckman cues

This is admittedly an open Forum for topics but you may do better posting in the Cue Gallery sub-forum.

I think since this is a thread to remember one of our fallen brothers, it's appropriate to have this thread in the main forum so all can see.

I have had many Dieckman's over the years, but this 3-piece cue is the only one I have left. I bought it from Bob Byrne's estate after he passed because I was friends w/both Bob and Deek-a-mon, may they both rest in peace.

I would like to see others post pictures of the Dieckman cues. Thanks for starting this thread.

Dave

This forum is in fact the most appropriate place for this thread.
To say otherwise is either extremely insensitive or as I suspect uninformed, however
the topic as stated is in honor of Dennis Dieckman, a fallen cuemaker, a beloved
cuemaker and friend to many here on AZ Billiards.
The most popular forum is clearly the most appropriate forum to post examples of Dennis Dieckman's work.

I'd say "yeah what he said" but you're unbearable and it wasn't clear enough.

Chiming in on a memorial to a solid cuemaker and great personality with more of your offensive brand of banal hot air? Check that **** off your bucket list!

If you don't know why your post is in bad taste, you my do better to stop writing things.

I look forward to seeing more cues on here, and no more windbags, hopefully they may find better things to do.

My old cue from DD. RIP. sir!!

Of course this is the place to post this. Deep down I think even bangbang knows that, but just had to be a disrespectful nit for some reason.

Where did this cue maker live? I’ve seen his name on here but can’t remember seeing a cue of his in Clearwater Florida.

Haha...I agree too

But I will acknowledge that for once in his life, his post was mercifully short.

If you're talking about the late Dennis Dieckman, here's a a history of how he got started that he wrote that billiardshot was nice enough to post in this forum: https://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=478379

He died while living in VA where he moved after he retired from cuebuliding. Although he moved around a lot, his home base was near Ann Arbor, MI.

There are a lot of great cue-makers, both living and deceased.

If you want to create something that may pepetuate itself better,
I'd have used a thread celebrating his career by posting also in
the cue gallery where people generally go to browse cues and
Dieckman cue owners can add photos both now and over time.

The main forum is suitable for any topic. Y...cuz it is an open forum.
I was neither criticizing the thread nor cue-maker....simply observing.
The topic can be posted in more than one sub-forum and Nuf Ced!

It was "nuf ced" before you posted the first time, now you're just proving the point that you talk too much. Just take the knowledge and go practice silence with it.

Here's my favorite Dieckman cue style, simple, beautiful, and a player. I will properly attach the photos when I can resize them correctly.

Here a trivia on Dieckman cue ... Most Dieckman cue will have some imperfect on them, because he believe God could only be perfect. So it you find that imperfect area on his cue, it wasn't a screwup.

I think he just said that so he would not have to be precise in his work LOL If someone that did not know him saw one of his cues, they would think it was built by a beginner.

God has some explaining to do about this perfection thing, cancer, war, baldness, Yugos, floods, rain during vacations, rap music...

Another Dieckman Trivia ... What Vendor name did Dieckman and Barenbrugge use to sell their cues together as cuebuilder?

Bob
Thanks again for the memories.
My first year...our first year together at SBE when SBE was still at the Scanticon.
Circa 2001 I believe...those were the days.
That poster should be still floating around my shop somewhere.
