difference between jp and professonal pechauer

hello,
what are the differences between the two cue lines?
i have heard that the jps are thicker at the butt and play softer. but i dont now if its true. its at least 7-8 years that i have played the last time with a pechauer.
how are the cues today? please tell me as much as possible about them.
