Difference between Pool, 3 cushion and Pyramid cues

I was wondering if anyone could point out the differences between the 3 types of cues;

- weight
- length
- tips
- tip diameter
- joints/ pins
- materials
- squirt
- balance

If anyone has tried say a 3 cushion cue in pool I'd love to know what they played like. I know there will be big variances within either game, but if there are any major differences I'd like to know.
