Do pros, shortstops, and "A" players that play 8,9,and 10-ball, and also play 14.1 as well use a different cue for 14.1? Johnnyt

I can only answer for those players of that speed that I have either played with or been around over the years, and the answer is no for those, they played all games with the same cue.

The players I have seen don't and I know I use the same cue for ALL games... I even play snooker with my cue...

Thanks for the replys. I guess the only reason I did it was becuase I played a lot of 3-cushion back in the day. I had four cues. A 21 oz. for billiards, a 19 oz. for 8,9, and rotation, a 17.5 oz. for 14.1, and a 20 oz. for the bar boxes with the heavy ball. Another reason I had so many cues was I wasn't an "A" player. Well some of your reasoning makes sense lol... I just like being able to get used to one cue with the deflection. I would probably do the same if I tried billiards. Maybe it is because I am not an A player and I can't adjust to different cues.

I only have one shooting cue that i use for 8/9/10 ball, 14.1 and 1pkt.

We dont play billiards around des moines.

I carry 3 cues, and one is only for 14.1 . Well, more accurately one is for good playing tables with fast cloth, and one is for everything else, but usually I only use my Schick for 14.1. ;)
