Different game question.

Ive been seeing videos of a billiard game I'm not sure about. It has yellow and red balls and a striped 8 ball and the tables are quite small and it looks like they are using a snooker cue. Is this simply a different 8 ball game? What's the idea behind it?

english 8-ball. barboxes with rounded corners, also a smaller cueball.

Both Jayson Shaw and Appleton were top in that game before coming over to US to play pool. The official game is on 6 foot tables, that is the "pro" size.

It's English pool, which a lot more popular than American eight-ball here in Ireland and the UK. Cue ball is 1 7/8"; object balls are 2". Rules differ between the two disciplines, though.

You'll only find the striped 8 ball in the Aramith Pro Cup set. The regular ranges all have the standard solid, numbered 8 ball.
