digital tach

It says that no battery is supplied but I couldn't see what battery it takes, just wandering if it is a button cell or double AA type. Great price anyway--Leonard

Went ahead and ordered one if I can lock in my lathe speed to turn butts and shafts for the smoothest cuts it will quickly save 13 bucks worth of sandpaper.

That's a heck of a deal. I paid more than that for mine and had to wait for it to come to me on a slow boat!

I love it. I have a small piece of reflective tape on all my chucks.
Want to find a good speed to apply finish? Hit it with the tach and make a note.
Need a good speed to rotate butts or shafts while tapering? Repeat above.
Of course, there's always a little fine tuning needed, but these are really handy- especially for variable speed motors that don't really indicate speeds on the controller.

Mine looks similar and takes a standard 9 volt battery.

I had a backup unit I was going to sell, but looks like I'll hold onto it for a while longer.
