dime shaped tip or nickel shaped tip?

dime shaped vs. nickel shaped....what's your preference? What are the advantages and disadvantages of dime shaped over nickel shaped tip?

This may sound curious, but I like the hit of my Talisman better with a dime shape. Having a flatter tip seems to reduce the feedback.

I got this from "Proper Care and Feeding of Your Investment" by Richard Black..
Richard Black had this to say about tip curvature:

(YMMV)

Nickel or Dime radius, either one in itself tells you very little. It depends on the diameter of the tip. Having the correct curve on the edge of the tip is what is important. And a 14mm tip will have more outer curve with a nickel radius than a 12mm will have with a dime. So you have to shape the tip in accordance with the diameter of the tip. 13mm used to be the standard and if that is the size tip you are playing with then you have a referrence to go off of for dime or nickel preferrence. That was the tip diameter that brought us all the nickel and dime radius shapers back in the 80's. On a 13mm tip I prefer a dime radius. But on a 11mm it is much more radius than that.

Cueman,
In your opinion- Using a 13mm tip size- assuming you were to hit the cue ball in the same spot, then:

Wouldn't a nickel radius have more contact with the cueball and a dime less?

If what I stated is correct, which would allow more spin and which would allow more control??

I would think less contact time would mean more spin and less control...?

Thanks-
Chris
