I like these better for layered tips than Willards when doing significant leather removal. I do keep a Willards with me when out playing for touch-ups, however.
I agree the Willard's tool is good. If you can find an Ultimate Tip Tool, I like to use the two strips of sandpaper on the sides to work the shoulder of the tip. There are probably other tools that can do that just as well though.
I picked up an Ultimate Tip Tool at a local billiards supply that shapes nickle on one side and dime on the other. It was kinda pricey, but has several functions......
