The problem is leg room under the table. Pull a chair up and see if you fit. Otherwise, you will need something that hangs out over the edge.
JoeW said:I made mine from three pieces of 3/4" 4 X 8 cabinet grade maple and four 2 X 4s cut to fit. It took about one hour with a circular saw and a saw guide. One 2 X 4 is placed at each end of the table and one 2X4 under the places where the plywood pieces meet. The whole rig simply sits on the pockets of a Gold Crown III. We use a standard leather table cover and a table cloth for dining. We use it for holiday gatherings. Because we use a leather table cover I did not have to finish the sides of the table pieces.
Later I made benches to fit from the same cabinet grade maple with iron on oak tape. The whole thing is finished with Mahogany stain and wipe on polyurethane. The table leafs are stored under the table and the benches are used in various places through out the house and the pool room.
If you are interested I can post some photos here.
My large extended family seems to like it and we have used this setup for about three years now.
This setup cost me about $200.00, it seats 12. The leather table cover was another $100.00 or so.
