Disappointed Predator Fan

A little background: I bought a Predator SP4 with 314-2 shaft over 20 years ago (maybe closer to 25) and absolutely loved it. I shot with that cue until sometime last year as I wanted to be able to add an extension and the butt cap on the SP4 was stripped out. A friend of mine uses that cue now. I bought a 9K and have been very happy with it. I have two Revo 12.4 shafts that I currently use, as well.

I think Predator is ruining their brand as of late. No real new innovation, just splashy colors of the same old cues that third parties buy and jack up the price on the secondary market. I'm still happy with what I have, I just wish Predator wasn't going in the direction they are.

Just needed to rant.

I feel you're pain , I also own a sneaky Pete and a BK2 , which I enjoyed playing with them a great deal , I've wanted to add a extension adapter to the SP ( which is a older version ) and it bottoms out , when I spoke with a customer service rep she told me it wouldn't work as the butt end of the cue is to thin and it would break .

The cue I use the most now has an adapter for a extension and hits a ball every bit as well if not better than my SP .

I agree. I've always loved the look and feel of their cues, but you can see they have changed.

If the extension bumper is the same thread as the existing bumper I fail to see how that would cause an issue. If the bumper is longer than the cavity is deep, a cue maker or repair person should be able to tap it a bit deeper.

Worst case, they could put an insert in to adapt to the Predator extension bumper. I'm about to have that done to a couple cues.

The customer service rep for predator said that my SP cue was to old for the extension and the threads aren't the same , I tried believe me ha ha

Rusty, you need to contact Nick Papageorge. 'Iusedtoberich.'
He made me a couple of 3D printed butt extensions that fit my old SP great!!
I'm sure he could hook you up with something that would work.
I believe he has a recent thread about 3D printed extensions on here.

I'm right there with you Coos I'm happy enough with my two old predator cues , sadly I really don't care much for their new designs .

I’m confused .. see what? Would I want to? No but other people do hence why they sell out and then go for even more on the secondary market. Why are people like you so entitled to think if it doesn’t fit into your likes it shouldn’t be made or someone else is wrong for liking it lol
